Opinions about Oil painting
The goal of this information is to tell people that some of my oipinion about oil painting.
Oil painting is a technique aims to make a picture on the surface of canvas by using oil paints. The oil paintings appeared in Europe within the last Dark Ages and it is used for many areas, it permitted many effects than exisiting teachniques, for examples, water-based and so on. Dutchman developed the colours which mixing pigments with linseed oil in 15th century.
Artists would like to use the pigment as a little creamy to mix the other material, they can make different colors for some work, it may search for fluids, spray fresch paint or impasto on his support. The paintings appear a lot of color effects, chiaroscuro and contrast. However, the color stability with time is important for the option of technique.
The oil painting contains pigment and combine with many materials which like oil, the binder, they are slow siccativity. So the oil is generally added complementary items dries to improve its speed. (Caution:Additions lead compounds will make the darken of the pigment)
The pigment is insoluble and discolour, so normally you need to use some materials which like linseed oil, poppy oil to mix it then adding some varnish fresh paint to make a much better homogeneity.
